If you're reading this, you're likely not.

I'm not either, but not for long.

I’m thinking of telling my boss I’m gay soon, out of necessity for my mental health at work.

It's been playing on my mind. But I've built up my confidence to the point that I could cope with hostile retaliation.

Coming out is never easy, but hopefully, after considering these points, you'll have more perspective on when and who to come out to.

When coming out, it's essential to test the waters to see the general views of the company on LGBTQ+ rights.

You can do this by:

  • Looking at your company's policies — you can usually find these in your employee portal.
